Thus, the specific objectives of\nthis project are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Develop\nand install a visibility measurement system to mitigate the high risk to\nmaritime navigation due to the absence of this information;<\/li><li>Develop\nand install a system for monitoring the location and depth of fishing and\nrecreational vessels, which allows the construction of a navigable route\ndatabase and consequently the sharing of navigation experiences;<\/li><li>Test\nand validate the system in Ria de Aveiro lagoon, and analyse its replication to\nother areas of the Portuguese coast.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The system to be developed will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>The\nmeteorological and oceanographic forecast system for the Aveiro region, based\non the AQUASAFE platform;<\/li><li>Historical\nlocation AIS data;<\/li><li>A\nlocation and depth monitoring system to be installed on recreational and\nfishing vessels; <\/li><li>A\nvisibility measurement and prediction system. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SISMAR project consists in the development of a risk analysis support system for sea operations based on prediction and monitoring of the marine environment and vessel location, promoting a significant increase in inland waters safety.
