In addition, inland waters are more difficult to\nnavigate when officially installed setting of buoys is inexistent, which poses\nan increased set of safety issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SISMAR project aims to develop a system by coupling\na number of other subsystems, some in operational, which allow improving the\nforecasting and interpretation of meteorological and oceanographic variables by\ninstalling dedicated monitoring equipment and by providing a summary of\ndecisions taken previously for similar offshore navigation conditions by\nsimilar vessels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will have as main outcomes: a mobile app\nfor the navigation safety assessment; a management system, and forecasts.
